The Pone Wars 4.18: Delivery Robot, Pee

For this page I played around with gradient overlays for lighting effects.  One thing I'm not as happy with about Affinity is the strength of its layer blending modes compared with what I'm used to; they almost always make the whole image look a bit washed out instead of making some areas pop (the other minor annoyance is how hard it is to set gradient stop colors - you can't use any of the shortcuts that the normal color picker tool has).  But, at least it HAS layer blends, so it's still a step up from what I was working with before.

The punchline of this page was originally something much less apropos, since when I wrote it I hadn't actually done the model for the poid. Nevertheless, I finished it as-was and let it sit a few days before realizing that this was better and fixing it.  So there are advantages to working a few days ahead.  Of course, the disadvantage comes when you get to the end of an issue and suddenly have to script the next one but don't want to because it disrupts your drawing and release schedule...
