Someone had to do all the gloating and monologuing (it's in the contract), and the Empress is busy right now, so Jade gets to do it for her.

For a while I was struggling with how to convey that Jade has them at her mercy even though they outnumber her, and I settled on having her being very disrespectful of Rainbow.  Few things say 'tough' quite like totally dismissing the horse who has a few dozen blades strapped to her side.
